

Winslow – Glenn A. Dumont, 69, of Winslow lost his life in a tragic snowmobile accident on March 2, 2016 in Quebec Canada. He was born on December 2, 1946 in Waterville, Maine a son of Florida (Albert) and Leonard Dumont. He graduated from Winslow High School, Class of 1965, and received a full four-year football scholarship to American International College in Springfield. MA. After his graduation in 1970 he was a 14th-round draft pick for the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs.
In 1971, he began teaching at his high school alma mater, where he was an assistant football coach and helped guide Winslow to state titles in 1973 and 1976. He also coached the indoor-outdoor track teams. Beginning in 1978, Glenn officiated at football games for the next 13 years, including numerous state championship games. Glenn became a sales manager for a Maine based construction firm in 1981, with his most recent position being the Sales Manager at Peachey Builders, a general contractor in Augusta.
Glenn loved his family with all of his heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Glenn was an avid Patriots fan and enjoyed boating, swimming, four-wheeling and snowmobiling with his family at his camp in Caratunk, Maine.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carla Dumont; his son Glenn II and his wife Connie and their daughters: Sydney and Rylee; his son Brad and his wife Faith and their daughter Ava; his daughter Jessica and her children: daughter Sadie and son Aiden; his brothers: Gary Grant and his wife Connie; Lewis Pelletier and his wife Diana; Stephen Dumont and his wife Theresa; his sister Karen Atkinson and her husband Ronald; as well as a large extended family and circle of friends.
Visiting hours will be on Tuesday March 8, 2016 from 4 – 7 M at Veilleux Funeral Home, 8 Elm Street, Waterville. The funeral service will be on Wednesday March 9 at 11 AM at Snow Pond Center for the Arts, aka New England Music Camp, 8 Golden Road, Sidney, ME with a reception immediately following at Snow Pond. Burial will be in McLintock Cemetery, Winslow later this spring.
