

WATERVILLE - Jeannette M. Vigue, 92, received her angel wings from injuries she sustained in a car accident on Saturday, December 30, 2017. She was born in Waterville, Maine on February 26, 1925, the daughter of Joseph and Leona Lagasse. On June 19, 1941 she married her love, Valaire Vigue, and together they raised 11 children.
Wife, Mother, Meme, Big Meme, and sister, there was no other like Jeannette. She was an amazing woman who always had a radiant smile. She loved her family with all her heart, she was their rock. Jeanette loved going out to eat, going to casinos and playing bingo. On Friday and Saturday nights you would find her going out to listen and dance to country music with her sister Margaret and several friends. Jeannette worked many years at Alfond Youth Center in their kitchen, she was affectionately known at “Meme” to hundreds of children.
Jeanette was predeceased by her parents, her husband Valaire, son Fredrick, daughters Lorraine and Maryann, great grandson Dominic and several brothers and sisters.
Jeannette is survived by sons Raymond Vigue and wife Linda of Winslow, Robert Vigue of Waterville, Norman Vigue of Winslow, Armand Vigue and wife June of Oakland, David Vigue and partner Debbie of Benton; daughters Annette Landry of Winslow, and Nancy Vigue and Rosemarie Liberty of Oakland, with whom Jeannette resided with. She is also survived by her best friend and sister, Margaret Woodbury, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.
Jeannette was beautiful lady and will be missed by all who knew her.
