

Jerome married Theresa (Veilleux) on September 4, 1950. Shortly after their marriage he was drafted to the Korean War serving in the Army. Upon his return in 1955 he and his wife started their life together in Winslow. He became a master plumber working at his brother's business for several years. In 1961 he went to work at Colby College as a custodian in the Art Department. He remained employed at Colby until his retirement in 1992.
In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking in his basement shop. He and his wife did many years of craft fairs in the area. Woodworking was his passion and it showed in his beautiful work. He also enjoyed working on his stamp collection and jigsaw puzzles. Jerome was an avid Boston Bruins fan and enjoyed watching games. He was also a lifetime member of the V.F.W. "Pep" had a big voice but had an even bigger heart. He loved his family dearly.
Jerome was predeceased by his parents, his beautiful daughter Jean Ann Aucoin who was taken from them too soon. Also a sister Beatrice LeGoff and brother Wilfred Aucoin.
Jerome is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 63 years Theresa; daughter Mary Fortin and husband Dale of Winslow, son Gerard Aucoin and wife Wendy of Waterville, grandsons Shawn, Chad and Jeremy Fortin and Cameron Aucoin. Great granddaughter Sophie Fortin, and sister Jackie Veilleux of Connecticut along with several nieces and nephews.
Per the families request; in lieu of flowers please send donations in Jerome's name to St. John's Church in Winslow where he was a life long member.
