

OAKLAND – Captain (Ret.) Jerome A. Boulette, passed away at home on Thursday, November 19, 2015. Captain Boulette was born in Waterville, Maine on January 5, 1929 the son of Arthur and Blanche (Rancourt) Boulette.
Known affectionately as “The Moose”, Jerome attended Notre Dame grammar school and graduated from Waterville High School in 1949. He was employed by the City of Waterville as a firefighter for over 30 years. Jerome was a member of the Knights of Columbus in the Waterville area.
Jerome was probably one of the most well respected hunters and fishermen in the area, having spent many hours on the numerous lakes and ponds in the state as well as in the many wooded areas he pursued deer and moose. He had the kn ack of tying the perfect streamer fly and making the genuine fly rod. His love for the outdoors followed him all the days of his life and can be found in the many fruit trees and blueberry bushes that mark his land on the Belgrade Road.
In 1963, Jerome married the former Anne G. Letourneau, who survives him along with his daughter and her husband, Maryanne and Darryll Fotter, and his son Jerome “Jay” Boulette. His grandsons Robert, Nathaniel and Geoffrey were “Pep’s” all-time best “buds”… they affectionately called him “Joe”.
Jerome was pre-deceased by his parents, a brother Lester Boulette, and two sisters, Rita Giguere and Estelle Butler. He is also survived by several nephews and nieces, and sisters-in-law Ida Letourneau, and Beth Lederman and her husband Allen.
The family would like to express sincere gratitude and thanks to the Hospice team that provided care and support during his illness.
There will be no public visiting hours. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 25 at 11:00 AM at Notre Dame Church, Silver Street, Waterville.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Corpus Christi Parish, 70 Pleasant Street, Waterville or The Waterville Homeless Shelter, Colby Street, Waterville.
