She was born in Waterville, Maine on February 13, 1942, the daughter of Leo and Olive (Vashon) Plourde.
Joan graduated from Waterville High School. She married Richard Craig on May 21, 1966. They were married for 55 years. They lived in Winslow, ME and moved to Burnham, ME and Hudson, FL when they retired.
Joan loved being a homemaker throughout her life. She also worked as a secretary at The Morning Sentinel, Kennebec Supply and Winslow Investments. She enjoyed bowling and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed knitting, video games and sweepstakes.
Joan is survived by her husband, Richard Craig of Hudson, FL, sons, Steven Craig of Windham, ME; Michael Craig of Waterville, ME; grandchildren Matthew Craig, Nicole Craig and Andrew Craig. She will be sorely missed by all our family. She was the centerpiece of all our devotion.
A family graveside burial service at St Francis Cemetery in Waterville will be held in the spring.
In remembrance of Joan’s life and her love for her dogs “Toby”, “Roux”, “little Toby” and “Louise”, donations can be made to the Waterville Humane Society.
