

WINSLOW – Linda Ann Rockwell, 60, of Fairfield, after a 6 year battle with ovarian cancer, is now cancer free. She passed away peacefully May 4th, 2010 at Maine General Medical Center in Augusta surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Waterville, June 2nd, 1949, the daughter of Gerald and Juliette (Gagne) Veilleux. Educated in Winslow schools and graduating from Winslow High School, she married Colby W. Rockwell in 1969.
Linda was a member of Corpus Christi Parish and attended St. John the Baptist Church in Winslow. A true lover of life, she told her family to “enjoy every day.” She was known for making friends everywhere she went. Linda enjoyed running the family business, PoolTech, with her husband Rocky and daughter Jennifer along with her husband Brian. She also loved wintering with all of her friends in Florida. But her greatest love was for her children and grandchildren whom she cherished dearly and helped her get through her battle the last six years.
She was predeceased by her father, Gerald and a brother, Gerald Peter Veilleux.
Surviving are her loving husband of 40 years, Colby Rockwell of Fairfield, her mother Juliette and her companion Dunk Ureel; two daughters, Tammy Marek and her husband Bart of Stratham, NH and Jennifer Kelly and her husband Brian of Winslow, one very special sister, Jean Morse and her husband Chuck of Arizona; five brothers, David Veilleux and his wife Jody of Waterville, John Veilleux and his wife Victoria, Doug Veilleux and his wife Michelle, Mike Veilleux, all of Winslow, and Jeff Veilleux and his wife Amy of Oakland; four grandchildren, Brooklyn and Nolan Kelly and Colby and Skylar Marek, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to thank all of her friends and especially her lifelong friend Gisele Bickford along with the staff of many doctors and nurses from the Harold Alfond Cancer Center in Augusta.
Visiting hours will be held 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, May 6th, 2010 at Veilleux Funeral Home, 8 Elm Street, Waterville. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m., Friday, May 7th at St. John the Baptist Church, Monument Street, Winslow. Committal services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, May 8th, at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, Grove Street, Waterville.
