Oakland. Lucille "Lucy" M. Ouellette, 94, died Friday, October 21,2011 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Winslow, November 15, 1916 a daughter of Alphonse and Amanda (Fortier) Audet.

Meme was a very loving person. Everyone from her children and relatives to her nurses, doctors and friends wanted to take her home.

Meme was very devoted to her Catholic faith and to her family. She was a wonderful wife to Papa and the best mother. She loved music, cooking and having her family around the table. She loved playing cards, especially the game 63. Often, while playing with her sister Rita or sister-in-law Dot, she would bid "Game" without the King and win!

Lucy was predeceased by her husband of 56 years Rodolphe, 3 brothers Edgar, Edward & Reginald; and 2 sisters, Florence York and Cecile LaBrie.

Surviving are her 2 sons, Eugene and his wife Cecilia of Coral Springs, FL and Edward and his wife Bonnie of Corinth, TX; 2 daughters Linda Kitchen and her husband Gary of Oakland and Patricia Pittillo and her husband Jebb of Hollywood, FL; a brother Leon Audet and his wife Connie of Winslow; a sister Rita Poulin of Lewiston; a sister-in-law Dot Audet of Winslow; 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Dr. Preston and his nurse, Debbie, were her heroes. They kept her with us much longer than we would have had her, and we all thank them for that.

The family thanks all her caregivers at Maine General, Oak Grove Nursing Care Center, and HealthReach Hospice.

A mass of Christian burial will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, October 27, 2011 at St. John Catholic Church in Winslow. Burial will follow at Maine Veterans Cemetery, Civic Center Drive, Augusta.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to HealthReach Hospice, PO Box 1568, Waterville, ME 04903 or to a charity of your choice.
