Mary Ellen Corey, 79 Waterville - Mary Ellen (Hamlin) Corey, 79, of Waterville, passed away peacefully with family by her side on December 31, 2018. Mary was born on May 2, 1939 in Unity, Maine, a daughter of Clayton and Mildred Hamlin. She graduated from Unity High School and Thomas College. Mary was married to Darwood George Corey on June 24, 1960. Mary worked for the Waterville School System, Clark and Company, Stearns Department Store, and LL Bean. She enjoyed fishing with family and friends at Moosehead Lake, Parlin Pond and many other locations throughout Maine. Mary was a fan of the New England Patriots and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan as well and had the pleasure of watching them win the World Series in 2018. Mary, being of a very kind heart, opened her home to many people who needed a home or place to stay. Mary is survived by her husband Darwood; her sister Barbara Finnemore; her children: Lorelie (Corey) Wing and husband Bradley; Jed Corey; Drew Corey and wife Rachel; her grandchildren: Shana (Corey) Page and husband Leslie; Sara (Wing) Burton; Brittany Corey; Jessica Wing; Rebekah Johnson; Margaret Morgan and husband Ryan; her great-grandchildren: Joseph and Helena Page; Makenzie and Amelia Burton; Willow Morgan; her step-daughter Darus Vear and husband Robert, their children and grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her father Clayton, mother Mildred, and brothers Clayton Jr. and Arthur. Visiting hours will be Wednesday, January 9 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Veilleux Funeral Home, 8 Elm Street Waterville, Maine.
