Mary Ellen George

“Sitto”

Mary Ellen George, 56, of Waterville, died Thursday, April 17, 2014 at Massachusetts General

Hospital in Boston, MA.

She was born in Waterville on July 17, 1957, the daughter of Joseph and Jeannette (LaChance)

Levesque. Mary was educated in the Waterville school system and graduated from Waterville

High School. She married her school sweetheart, Peter George Sr., on May 31, 1975.

Mary worked for more than 20 years as a CNA at Lakewood Manor and Mount St. Joseph’s, and

was a longtime member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the Waterville VFW.

Mary will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those who loved her for her love of wind

chimes, flipflops

and ladybugs, her inability to sit still for any length of time, her cooking, her

twisted sense of humor and her unbridled honesty. She also enjoyed reading, knitting, growing

tomatoes and various plants, and feeding the squirrels and bluejays

that would flock to her yard

for peanuts.

In addition to being the loving wife of Peter, Mary was the beloved mother of sons Peter, Jr. and

Jason George and furbaby

Simone the cat, motherinlaw

of Rhonda George and Shannon

Bertone, the “best” Sitto of Peter (III) and Adriana George and Kaitee and Austin Bertone. She is

also survived, and will be greatly missed by, sisters, Nancy Levesque and husband Ray, Jennifer

Audet and significant other Pete Goodno, and Jessica Bizier; brothers Dan Levesque and wife

Sofia, David Levesque and wife Linda, Tommy Levesque and wife Marilyn, Mark Levesque and

wife Beth; sisterinlaw

Maryann Levesque; brotherinlaw

Dale Mosher; many nieces and

nephews; and dearest friend Rae Thurlow.

Mary was predeceased by her parents; brother Gilbert Levesque, Sr., and sister Sandra Mosher.
