

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010 at Inland Hospital. He was born in Van Buren on
August 21st, 1965, the son of Elmer and Rejeanne (Gervais) Morneault.
Educated in Fort Kent schools and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Maine at Orono in Electrical Engineering. Matthew was employed by ABB as an electrical engineer.
Matt was a member of Corpus Christi Parish and a very prayerful and religious person. He was very involved with music ministry playing his bass guitar which he loved to do.As a member of the Waterville Knights of Columbus he served in various roles over eight plus years,including Grand Knight for two years, District Deputy and most recently as Faithful Navigator of the Fourth Degree. Matthew also served as an Associate Planning Board Member for the town of Canaan.
Matthew’s sisters remember him as a very handy person who could fix anything from automobiles to computers and especially anything electronic. He loved tinkering with things and truly enjoyed learning new things. He was a very patient person and ever ready to lend a hand to those in need whether he knew them or not.
Matthew was predeceased by his father, Elmer Morneault in 2007.
Surviving along with his mother, Rejeanne Morneault of Poland, are four sisters, Monique Morneault of Poland, twin sisters, Michelle Morneault of Poland and Marcelle Pare’ and her husband Mark, of Turner, and Mona St. Pierre and her husband Julien of Winthrop, two nieces, Elizabeth and Sarah Pare’ and two nephews Adam and Aaron St. Pierre, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be held 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, April 4th and 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 5th at Veilleux Funeral Home, 8 Elm Street, Waterville. Following Monday visitation a funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at Notre Dame Church, Silver Street, Waterville. Burial will be in St. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery, Lewiston.
