Ronnie was often talked about as being “the hardest working man I know” or “the best Grandpa in the world”. He worked at Manter Construction alongside his sons, friends, and family for many years. He was a living example of working hard for the things that you want and need. He not only worked hard at his place of employment, but he also owned a small farm with his wife, Brooks. It brought him great joy to take in and help animals in need. Together, they fostered and adopted many animals. It was a running joke to see which of the two would bring home the next animal, as this is what they lived for.
Ronnie loved helping people as well, he was well known to give the shirt off of his own back to anyone in need and was always willing to lend a hand. Anywhere he went he would see someone he knew or would get to know someone, as he was a wonderful man. Anyone that knew him would say “When I called him, he came, no matter how busy he was” or “he would always bail me out”.
Ronnie was a devoted husband and father, he taught his children and grandchildren to love and respect others. If you knew Ronnie, you always heard stories about his grandchildren and his farm animals, or maybe you called and got his typical response of “yup…yup…..okay bye”. He was a family man, a friend, a foreman, and a go-to fix it man. He enjoyed fixing anything with a motor, and he was just a man for the job. He enjoyed hunting, ice fishing, riding his ATV toys, playing with the grandkids, and napping after all of his hard work.
Ronnie is predeceased by his loving grandparents Theresa and Peter Pelotte of Oakland, Maine. He leaves behind his mother, Linda Marquis, brother, Brian Coombs and sister Denise Brooks. He also lives behind his wife of 20 years, Brooks Violette, and his five children: Patrick Coombs, Chelsea Coombs, Alysha Hassele, Aaron Willoughby, and Carter Violette. Ronnie also leaves behind his six grandchildren, whom he adored, bragged about and endlessly spoiled: Eleanor Giggey, Caroline Giggey, Wyatt Murphy, Brylee Coombs, Charlotte Willoughby, Caleb Willoughby, and two more on the way.
There will be a gathering to say goodbye to this great man at Veilleux Funeral Home in Waterville, Maine on December 16, 2022 from 5pm to 7pm. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Thomas College Dining Hall, Waterville, Maine, from 12pm to 3pm.
