Ronald A. Frields

Ronald A Frields, 86 of Winslow, passed away suddenly, and just hours after the passing of his last surviving sibling, on Tuesday Aug 21,2019. He was born April 13, 1933 in Mission, Tx to Irena and Charles Frields. His early years were spent traveling the southwest of the US where his family worked the farms harvesting, before settling in Sacramento, CA. Ron took great pride in his impeccable work ethic which developed as a very young man, steadily working since the age of 12 to help support the family all while attending school. Upon graduation from high school, Ron worked a wide range of jobs between Sacramento and Idaho. In 1953, Ron enlisted in the AirForce. Ron served in Bordeaux, France; West Berlin, Germany; Ubon, Thailand; and many stateside bases, almost always taking on a second job to provide for his family. Upon retiring from the US Air Force in 1975, Ron eventually settled back in Sacramento, CA and continued his career in the federal civil service, retiring in 1996. In 1983, Ron met the love of his life,Tina,at the bowling alley where they spent many years enjoying their favorite past time. Although modest, Ron was a very successful bowler and quietly proud of his bowling accomplishments. Ron loved the outdoors, traveling (especially the Southwest and studying the westward expansion), fishing, and most of all, conversing and reminiscing. He was a vivid story teller and could catch the attention of anyone in a room. Ron is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Tina; stepson Vicente “Jay” Morris and his wife Erica of Winslow, ME; stepdaughter Annabolyn “Barbara” Bush of North Ft Myers, FL; son Kevin Frields of Twin Falls, ID; a very special nephew Sean Frields and his wife Sarah of Sacramento, CA; grandchildren Zackery Cobain, Nicholas and Bella Morris, Morgan Kolling, Andy and Lisa Aman, special great nephew Jace; and several nieces and nephews and great grandchildren. . He was predeceased by his parents, seven siblings and a daughter Jeanie “Topper” Aman. A service and burial will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2019, at The Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery at 9 am.
