Bob was born in Port Blanchard, Pennsylvania on November 14th, 1936, the son of the late, John and Rose Hornick. Bob served in the US Army from 1953 to 1957 and had received the National Defense Service Award. He was a past member of the American Legion and a very active communicant of St. Mary’s of the Lake Church. Bob was employed until his retirement with the US Postal Service, serving as a postal carrier and clerk in Binghamton, NY, California, Arizona, Owego, NY, and Ithaca, NY.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 53 ½ years, Mary Ann; his children, Michael (Erica) Hornick, David Hornick, and Christine Hornick; his grandchildren, Katelynn, Bobby, Timmy, and Victoria; his sister, Theresa Ambrose of Wyoming, PA; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by six siblings.
Friends and family may call from 10 to 11am at the Link at St. Mary’s of the Lake Church, 905 Decatur St., Watkins Glen, where his memorial Mass will be held at 11am with Father Paul Bonacci, celebrant. Interment will follow with Military Honors at Bath National Cemetery.
