She was born in Auburn, NY on Nov. 11, 1932 to parents, Lester and Winifred Clarke Warrick. She attended Union Springs High School and graduated from Nursing School, Cobleskill, NY in 1958.
She enjoyed doing cross word puzzles, computer gaming and most of all spending time with family and friends.
Throughout her years, she was always soft-spoken, quietly intelligent and never judgmental or complaining
Jean is preceded, in death, by husband, Robert A. Horton Sr. and son, Ronnie L. Horton. She is survived by daughter Kathleen Horton (Wm. Randall) Soop of Ellicott City, MD and their children, Conor, Shanon, Ryan and Christian, son Robert A. (Laura Smith) Horton Jr. of Odessa, NY and their children Nathan, Mitchel, Heather and Tyler, son Timothy (Christine) Horton of Panama City, FL and their children ,Robert and Michelle. In addition, she is survived by sisters Doris Warrick Reynolds of Mt. Home, Arkansas and Brenda Warrick Hurley of Nacogdoches, TX, brothers-in-law Paul (Jean) Horton of Horseheads, NY, Raymond (Rosemary) Jaynes of Troy, MT, Timothy (Janet) Jaynes of Odessa, NY, sisters-in-law Nancy Horton(David) Radka of Henderson, TN and Josephine (George G., deceased) Jaynes of Ithaca, NY, several nieces, nephews, great –grandchildren and many friends.
Donations may be made to the Susan B. Komen Foundation in Mrs. Horton’s name. She was a 32 year breast cancer survivor and has supported the cause for many years.
Memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Haughey-Wood Funeral Home, 119 Fifth St., Watkins Glen, NY at 1:00pm. Burial to follow at Union Cemetery of Hector, Burdett, NY. A light luncheon will follow at Odessa Fire Department, Odessa, NY.
