Michael A. Marusarz
May 24, 1936 – September 16, 2016
Michael A. Marusarz of Lakemont, New York passed away on September 16, 2016 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center surrounded by his family. Mike was born on May 24, 1936 in Great Barrington, Massachusetts. He was pre-deceased by his parents George and Agnes Marusarz; three sisters and nine brothers.
Mike is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Grace (Roof) Marusarz; his children, Duane (Deborah) Marusarz of Kansas City, Missouri; Romaine (Harold) Sexton of Himrod; Lorraine (Michael) Jayne of Lakemont; Lisa (William) Donk of Canandaigua; George Marusarz of Glenora; Carletta Hill of Dundee; 15 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mike was a veteran of the United States Army and was employed at Morton Salt until 1970, where he was injured on the job. He was an active member in the Sportsmans Club, the Legion and the VFW.
Through the years Mike enjoyed spending time with his family, bowling, fishing, horseshoes, OTB, playing cards, lottery tickets and most of all telling jokes. Mike was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He could light up any room with his smile and brought laughter to all the hearts he's touched. His legacy will live on through all the memories he's created with his loved ones.
A graveside service with Military Honors will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at 3:30pm at Hillside Cemetery in Dundee, NY. A continuation of the Celebration of Mike’s life will be held following the service at the Dundee VFW Post 8649, 125 Seneca St. Ext., Dundee, NY 14837. Memorial donations may be made in Mike’s Memory to the Dundee Volunteer Ambulance Corp., 12 Union St., Dundee, NY 14837
