Dear Ann and Family,
What a glorious funeral!! Mike was sure to be smiling! Especially with Father Steve’s kind words and the beautiful eulogy from his niece Katherine. Despite the downpour at the cemetery, the skies cleared and Mike willed us to wipe our tears away. Growing up just down the block, I was at the house everyday knocking at the door for Ann to walk the dogs or go fishing. He was a patient brother with the 9th Street pest. Mike was the definition of courage and faith. He was a true hero. Please except our most sincere sympathies. May he Rest In Peace, but not too much!!! He has a lot of reunions and kicking up of his heels!!
Love and prayers to all,
Mary Donnelly Mercer and Family

I knew Mike as the field agent for the Knights of Columbus and he impressed me as a kind and gentle soul. He will be remembered in prayers at St. Mary's in New Haven, CT as a Knight of Columbus membet.

I have only known Mike over the past year. I've been so impressed at his calmness in the face of adversity, and how well he lived his faith. He was a good and kind soul, and a Brother Knight. Mike was an inspiration, and a great example, and we will miss him

To Michael's family, please accept my heartfelt condolences and sympathy on Michael's very sad passing...Though I did not know him well, we used to have brief, but wonderful conversations when I would walk by the house and Michael would be outside enjoying the warm days...I am feeling a profound sadness today knowing that those conversations will no longer be...Michael was a very spiritual, devout Catholic who faced his physical challenges with such dignity and strength and acceptance...What a true inspiration he was to all..He is now "free to be" flying high with the Angels - a glowing smile on that beautiful face..! Rest in peace, my friend...Yvonne DeSarno Overbeck..Watkins Glen, NY..
