Neal O. Kelly

Neal O. Kelly, age 63, of Burdett, NY passed away peacefully on Monday May 21, 2012. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Susan; his sons, Andrew and Neal Jr. (Moose); his favorite daughter in law, Sherri. The joy of his life is being known as “Poppy” to his grandchildren, Brandon, Jordan, Haley, Justin, Sean, and Tapanga. He is also survived by his brothers and sister in laws, Gary and Mary Kelly, Sharon Kelly, David Kelly, Kevin and Terry Kelly, Jason and Pam Kelly; his sister, Patricia and Terry Dense; sister in laws, Joann and Roger Townsend, Diann and Mark Murphy, and Carol Ann and David Driesbach. Special aunt and uncle, Carole and William Templar of Hilton-Head and several nieces and nephews all very special to him.

Neal graduated from Watkins Glen High School in 1967. He was a member for 45 years, past chief and treasurer of the Burdett Volunteer Fire Department; member and Past Exalted Ruler of the Watkins Glen Elks Lodge #1546. Neal retired from Time Warner Cable in 2006.

Friends and family may call from 4pm to 7pm on Friday, May 25, 2012 at the Haughey-Wood Funeral Home, Watkins Glen. His Funeral Service will follow at 7pm with participation from the Watkins Glen Elks and the Burdett Fire Dept. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Neal’s memory to the Burdett Fire Dept. Building Fund, PO Box 238, Burdett, NY 14818.
