WINIFRED G. YORKE
June 10, 1923 – June 20, 2019
Winifred “Winnie” Yorke was born June 10, 1923, and was raised and lived her working life in New Jersey. She was a highly successful self-made woman. She achieved considerable success as a real estate investor on the Jersey Shore. After retiring from real estate, she moved to Florida where she shifted her efforts to actively trading stocks and bonds. She was a successful investor who managed her own portfolio until the age of 93. She was a religions woman who attended Catholic Mass daily as long as she remained physically able. She made many friends wherever she lived and loved throwing large dinner parties. She was a woman of many interests and talents. She was a self taught artist who painted over eighty paintings. She also enjoyed singing, playing the organ, ballroom dancing, golf, tennis, and curling. One of her greatest loves was travel, particularly going on cruises. She often reported that she had been on over 100 cruises.
She leaves behind her only son, Philip and his wife Sandra; her grandchildren Christine and Leigh and a great-granddaughter, Lillian.
She led a rich and full life and will be missed.
