my name is jim wiczen. my mothers name is vera (elie) wiczen. she lives in newton falls, ohio. her father was nicholas elie, which i believe was anns fathers brother.
i remember "annie" coming to visit my mother and dad in newton falls. she ALWAYS had a huge smile on her face. she was such a happy and pleasant person. she would often come with my uncles nick or pete, who also lived in michigan.
my mother is 89 now and in failing health. i will pass on the sad news to my mother and wish you all my deepest sympathy.

My sympathy and prayers go out to the family.  I will also greatly miss Ann and pray I have such a Godly influence on my family as she did on hers. A few years ago when my husband and I were going through financial difficulties, on our way to church the Sabbath before Easter, we passed a corner selling flowers. I knew we could not afford to buy any flowers for Easter, but I thought to myself that maybe next year would be better and we would be able to get an Easter Lily.  When we arrived to church, Ann asked me to sit next to her (we usually sat near one another). When the service ended, Ann asked me if I would like one of the Easter Lilies that she and Tim brought to the church. I told her the Lord used her to bring me a special blessing as no one knew of my desire for an Easter Lily. Every Easter following that Ann would be so kind as to give me an Easter Lily. I will also miss the Sabbath afternoon visits with her in her sunroom and look forward to the Blessed Hope we have so we all will be able to visit with Ann again.

Mrs Woolf was a wonderful blessing to the lives of us all.  I praise the Lord for her kindness to our children and her faithfulness in what she believed in. May His Spirit comfort all of you, for She loved you dearly.

Dear Dan:

Your (our) loving mother has passed away! The loss you've sustained will be felt for all times until Jesus comes!  Now, without a mother, no doubt your life will be different.

News of anybody dying is SAD!  Death is so cruel. The consolation we have is that Jesus has already destroyed this enemy of death through His resurrection.

Please accept my family's heartfelt sympathy for yourself, and all who mourn with you, our assurance of deep sorrow on the passing away of your dear mother.  We grieve with you in your loss.

Commenting on Psalm 116:15, (NIV), Philip Yancey & Tim Stafford have this to say:

"Precious Death. This verse, often read at funerals, in no way implies that God enjoys the death of His people.  Instead, it means that He carefully watches over their death, and that they matter deeply to Him. The whole Psalm praises God for saving from death.  Psalm 72:14 uses a similar phrase in a similar way: 'Precious is their blood in His sight.'"

Jesus demonstrated that He has gained victory over this enemy of death by raising Lazarus, the son of the widow of Nain, the daughter of Jairus, and others that went with Him to Heaven.

Peter and Paul also raised the dead--Dorcas and Eutychus respectively.

The Old Testament also records the raising of the dead.

Let us continue living our lives to the glory of God.  This will assure us the certainty of seeing the ones who have gone to sleep in the Lord until the resurrection.

So grateful to have had Gramma Annie in our lives.  My sisters and I treasured her as the church gramma she was to all of us kids.  Thankful for the hope of the second coming when we will all be together again.

Grandma Annie was a blessing to my children, they have such fond memories of her as they grew up in the Oakwood church.  She was always so genuinely interested in the well-being of my children and family and would always inquire how they were.  I  will miss seeing her smiling face every Sabbath but know I will see it again when we all are called home. I have been blessed to have known her. Ann and I became friends several years ago. I love her dearly, and I will really miss her smiling face and warm embrace. My love and prayers are with her family. May she rest in peace until our LORD returns to awake her.

I'll always remember Gramma Annie's sweet smile and her gentleness. She was always so kind and I'll sure miss seeing her sitting across the isle in church. Be comforted by all your good memories, and knowing that she's now sleeping safely in the arms of Jesus.

I thank God for the presence of this wonderful lady in my life, and the love and friendship she gave, not just to me but to so many. She will be sadly missed and never forgotten, and may her family find comfort in His Love.

I wish to express my sincere sympathy in the loss of such a dear woman. May her family be comforted in knowing that Jesus is coming very soon, and then we will again be joined with our loved ones where there is no death, sorrow or crying. The next thing she will know is Jesus is here.
