Catherine Ann Curley, age 65, of Livonia, Michigan, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2025. Born on May 17, 1960, in Detroit to the late Wilfred and Mary (Johnson) Curley, Catherine lived a life defined by curiosity, compassion, and quiet strength.
A proud graduate of Oakland University, Class of 1983, Catherine built a fulfilling career in information technology. Her professional journey took her through several companies before she found her long-term home at Ford Motor Company in 2010. There, she dedicated over a decade of service before retiring in 2022.
Catherine was deeply engaged with the world around her. Politically passionate and civically active, she cared profoundly about causes close to her heart—especially climate change and animal welfare. Her generous spirit could be seen not only in her advocacy but also in her regular support of animal charities. Her beloved cats, Isabelle and Sophia, were treasured companions and constant sources of joy.
Family meant the world to Catherine. She is survived by her sisters, Carla (Thomas) Jankowski and Rebecca (Davide Guerra) Curley; her nieces and nephews, Zachary, Zoë, Sungjin, and Ryan—all of whom brought her endless pride and happiness.
Catherine’s life was rich with the things she loved: music and food, art fairs and apple orchards, quiet hikes, and vibrant zoos. She especially cherished camping trips along Lake Michigan with her family and made frequent visits to Traverse City, one of her favorite places.
Catherine will be remembered for her wit, warmth, and unwavering convictions. She leaves behind a legacy of love—for her family, for animals, and for the natural world she so admired.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
