My memories of my Uncle Daniel is when my wife and I, Julie Godwin went to Michigan to see my Grandpa and Grandma Rushlow in January 1988. We went with my Mom and Dad, but they stayed at Grandpa & Grandma's and Julie and I stayed with Uncle Daniel in the Willow Creek Apt. It was a very cold winter and was snowing very hard. Uncle Daniel invited me to go with him to help clean the snow from the parking lots. He had a snow plow put on the front of his truck. We went in early morning. Later Uncle Daniel took us to Windsor, Canada to see where Grandpa was born. It was our first time we went out of the Country. We went under the Detroit River going to Canada and came back over the bridge. What a wonderful memory. I will always remember the fun we had. Uncle Daniel was always funny and fun to be with. Memories of my Dear Brother Daniel "Danny" - who was there for me through countless times, as my Big Brother. He felt my frustrations through times I experienced in Michigan after I got out of High School. In Oct 1961, when him and his family were moving to California, he invited me to come to live with them. So in February 1962 I left Michigan to live with Danny, Madelyn, Michael, Denise and Charlotte. He so lovingly helped me through a very difficult depressed time while I was there with them. Then him and Madelyn was my big support when I married Jim Godwin. I cherished my memories of my Big Brother's Love. Though him and his family eventually left California returning to Michigan, I always looked forward to seeing him and his family when I visited in Michigan, as that bond of love was unbreakable. He gave me my start in life after I left home (Michigan) I cherished this memory. And because of that my daughter, Johanna Tatum has cherished her friendship with Danny's daughter, Denise Colenso - which I value very much - to this day. Denise has the strong idea's of her Dad. And my Dear "Charlie Brown" (sweet pea), Danny's other daughter, that inspire d me in so many ways, as her ambition, and many collected decorative ideas and her dedication to her family, has drawn me to Danny's influence on many things he accomplished in his life. I love my Family and glad I've been a part of "Danny's" life. We will miss him. Love Patricia (Godwin) Clever

Danny was truly a “jack of all trades”. I lived next door to Danny in Garden City for years. Danny was the neighborhood go to man and loved by all. He was always there when the pipes froze or the light bulb exploded. Grass and snow were his specialities. And, Danny was always ready with a good laugh and a bright outlook! He will be missed but never forgotten!
