Florence Ann Gdowski August 1, 1929 - April 2, 2021

Age 91 of Wayne, Michigan, peacefully left us to be with the Lord on Friday, April 2, 2021.

Beloved wife of 69 years to the late Raymond. Loving mother of Donna (Bob) Weible and the late Michael Gdowski. Cherished grandmother of the late Jennifer (John) Nelson and the late Corey Amos and great grandmother of Tyler Doucette. Dearest sister of the late Frank Tomczak (Arlene). She will also be missed by many dear nieces and nephews.

Early in her marriage, Florence worked for Michigan Bell until she decided to dedicate herself to raising her children. She was very devoted to her faith as she was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Wayne. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, bingo, bowling and watching baseball with "her Raymond". Most important of all was time spent with her family.

A funeral in state for Florence will be held Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at 10:30 AM at St Mary Catholic Church, 34530 Michigan Ave, Wayne, Michigan 48184 with Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers contributions in Florence's memory may be made to St Mary Catholic Church, 34530 Michigan Ave, Wayne, MI 48184.

Flo (and Ray) were great friends with my Brother and Sister-in-law, Theresa and Ed Krzysko who lived upstairs at my Mothers home in Detroit. They came over quite often and we always had so much fun with them. Flo especially was so sweet and funny. I remember one day she stopped and talked with Mom before heading upstairs. It was such a hot sunny summer day and Mom offered her a quick drink - a high-ball loaded with ice and booze. Flo just drank it all down in one gulp and said it really it the spot!! She had no idea it would practically knock her out. We heard she went upstairs to visit and proceeded to lay on the floor!! It was not funny at the time but for years after we laughed about it. Sure, she will be missed. (my Maiden name - Dolores Kasiowniak)

Florence was the absolute sweetest. I loved going to her room and just chatting about the past. She loved to talk about Warren Ave. I remember she recently got her hair done at the salon and was so happy to get a perm like she use too! I was so happy to have met her as she left a big mark on my heart! -Alyssa WW activities
