Joan “Joanie” Mary Fill born December 5, 1943 passed away peacefully on November 18, 2022. Joan was born to John and Joyce Quinn in Stowmarket, England, the daughter of a US Army soldier and British war bride. Joan traveled to the US with her mother in 1946 aboard the Queen Mary, a luxury cruise ship converted for war service during World War II.
Joan attended school in Garden City, MI where she met her high school sweetheart, Robert Fill. Joan and Robert Fill were married on August 24th, 1963. Joan’s love and admiration for Bob was ever present through their 59 years of marriage, as her eyes would sparkle in his presence.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Robert Joseph Fill; her children Daniel S. Fill, Timothy R.(Laurie) Fill, John C. (April) Fill, and Dana L. (Richard) Colling; her grandchildren Daniel Joseph Fill, Kinley Sierra Fill and her siblings Ty Quinn, Bonnie Bedard and Colleen Weglarz.
Joan enjoyed travel, spending time at her cottage in Lake County, Michigan and spending her winters on the Florida beaches. She will be remembered for her fierce love of her children, beloved pets, love of reading and Elvis Presley.
