

John Charles Eric Wilson, born on September 22, 1951, in Wayne, Michigan, passed away peacefully at his home in Wayne on August 28, 2025, at the age of 73 due to natural causes. He was the beloved son of Eugene and Doris Jean (Frye) Wilson and is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Cherie, and brothers, Edward and Russell. John is survived by his sister Towana Wilson Stafford, brother Eugene, Aunt Charlotte, Uncle Donald, many cherished nieces and nephews, great-grand nieces, and several cousins.
John was an alumnus of Romulus High School and a graduate of Washtenaw and Hillsdale Colleges with an Associate's Degree in Culinary Arts.
John served Honorably in the United States Air Force. As a cook, John not only nourished the bodies of his comrades but also nurtured a sense of camaraderie and purpose. John was honorably discharged, carrying with him a deep belief in God, Family, and Service.
John worked as a driver for Greyhound Bus and held various culinary positions, always finding fulfillment in the rhythm of cooking. He also embraced the openness of the road. Johnny was always on the move, by foot or by bike. Known for his minimalist lifestyle, Johnny focused on the essential aspects of life. He enjoyed reminiscing about the past and having meaningful conversations. John never stopped talking about the rich tapestry of his family’s ethnic heritage.
John will be laid to rest at Great Lakes National Cemetery on September 22, 2025, at 10 AM.
