Karen Ann Norton

August 21, 1936January 3, 2019

Karen Ann Norton passed away January 3, 2019 at the age of 82. Loving wife of the late Patrick J. Norton- former Mayor and City Council Member of the city of Wayne.

Beloved mother of Patrick J. Norton III, Nancy A. (Martin Garthwaite) Norton, Brian M. (Dr. Stephanie Schechner), and John P. Norton. Cherished grandmother of Cole Garthwaite, Dylan Garthwaite, Patrick Norton, and Eric Norton. Dear sister of Katherine (Sally Schaden) O’Brien, Thomas M. (Jeanne) O’Brien, and the late Judith (Phil) Luke.

Karen was a graduate of Western Michigan University and worked as a medical technician as a young woman. She was a life-long supporter and volunteer for Health-O-Rama and the Special Olympics. Karen also owned and operated a commercial real estate business in southeast Michigan with her late husband Pat.

Memorial Service Saturday, January 12 at 4pm, with gathering beginning at 12pm, at Harry J. Will Funeral Home 34567 Michigan Avenue in Wayne.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Community Opportunity Center- cocliving.org – who cares for and assists John Norton.

Norton Family, words cannot express the Love and respect we have had for the Norton's ! The Norton's have always been good Friends and Neighbors. We will always remember your family as Very Good People keeping the Beach Families Together. Your whole family is in our thoughts and prayers at this time.
