

Marlene was born in Saginaw, Michigan, and spent her life devoted to family, education, and service to others. She was a caring and dedicated individual whose warmth and generosity left a lasting impression one everyone who knew her.
Marlene received her BA in elementary education and MA in special education from Eastern Michigan University. She worked her entire career and retired from Wayne-Westland Community Schools, where she proudly served students and colleagues for many years including working as a life guard at the Dyer Pool. Beyond her professional life, she was deeply involved in her community. She was an active member of the Civitans, serving Michigan Area Governor, the VFW Women's Auxiliary, Special Olympics, and numerous other charitable causes.
She is survived by her sons, Edward (Pam) Dean Jr. and Mark (Cheryl) Dean, daughter-in-law Tamara Dean, 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Marlene was preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey S. Dean Sr.; her second husband, Ted Doran; and first husband, Edward C. Dean Sr.
A remembrance service will be held at the cottage in Beaverton, MI at a later date.
