Ronald Charles Dorsch

Ron dedicated many years of service to Delta Air Lines, where he worked as a ramp supervisor before retiring. In his retirement years, Ron bussed many Detroit Red Wings fans from Sinbad’s Restaurant & Marina (located on the Detroit River) to the hockey games.

Ron loved spending time on the water, especially fishing, where he found peace and contentment. A true sports fanatic, he enjoyed following just about every sport and was always ready to cheer on his favorite teams. For many years, he was an avid league bowler and baseball player, creating lasting friendships through sports. Like his dad, Ron enjoyed much of his free time working with wood, helping family and friends on home reconstruction projects, and he took great pride in hand crafting some fine wood furniture.

Above all, Ron was a people person. He never met a stranger and had a remarkable ability to strike up a conversation with anyone. His warm smile, friendly nature, and genuine interest in others left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Ron’s greatest joy was his family. He leaves behind his children, Tracie Wardlow, Dana (Robert) Bowyer, Kyle (KimM) Dorsch, and Scott Dorsch; his grandchildren, Corie, Austin, Abigail Rose, Kayla, Logan, Kaylei, and Lincoln; and a great-grand child (coming in November 2026); his sisters, Linda (David) Tunis, Diane Dorsch, and Peggy (Jeff) Douglas; and his sister-in-law, Carol Dorsch.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, James and Margaret Dorsch, his brother, James Dorsch, his son-in-law, Kevin Wardlow, his grandson, Garrett Wardlow, and his companion, Debbie Savitskie and her son Joe.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Ron’s life during visitation on Friday, July 24, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 34567 Michigan Ave., Wayne, Michigan 48184.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Harry J. Will Funeral Home.

Any contributions given in Ron’s memory will be donated by his family to Ron’s favorite charities (St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Wounded Warrior Project).
