Born August 11, 1964 in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late Myrtle (Harris) Sparks. On March 28, 1996 he married his soulmate and the love of his life, Tamara Hatter. The two shared a blessed union of 32 years together.
Darryl was a member of Wintergreen Church of Christ. He was in the towing, recovery, and service advisory industry for over 30 years and was formerly employed at Stoney Creek Auto Center of Nellysford. Darryl enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren. He will be remembered by those who knew him as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by one brother, Douglas Critzer.
Survivors in addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Jillian Pugh and husband, Christopher of Afton; grandchildren, Dagan Pugh, Benjamin Carroll, and Aspen Pugh; siblings, Jeff Critzer and wife, Pam of Nellysford, Lynne Shifflett and husband, Timmy of Frederick, MD, Janet Quinones and husband, David of Germantown, MD, and Ernie Sparks and fiancé, Angela Graves of Buena Vista, Va; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Wilbert and Linda Hatter; sister-in-law, Carmella Hatter; two special nieces, Victoria and Katie Quinones; and a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Following cremation, the family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main St., Waynesboro. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
