Andrea Jane Johnson Gum

Andrea graduated from Quinniapiac College with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1989. She was a wonderful, giving person who served the citizens of her community as a Registered Nurse at the UVA Medical Center. Never having met a stranger, she was well known for always helping any person or animal in need and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

She was the wife and soulmate of Carlos Gum of Fishersville and the loving mother of Rebecca Theado, also of Fishersville; her sisters, Cynthia and Caroline Johnson; Carlos’ sister, Pam Knutson and brothers Clarence, Calvin, and Ivan Gum and their spouses and family. She is also survived by mother and father-in-law Garnett and James Gum and many friends treated just like family. She was preceded in death by brother Kenneth Johnson and brother-in-law, James Gum.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, July 29, 2013 at Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes of Waynesboro. A memorial service will follow at 7:00p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Clyde Gum officiating. Military rites will follow the service by the American Legion Post 340.
