I first met Annette many years ago through Anna Heslep. And our paths crossed back and forth over the years. She was such a joy to be around, always in a happy good mood and Willing to help any way she could. She also worked hard and  had a strong love for the people in her life. I have this one memory where I baked this apple pie for Anna and Annette was there when I dropped it off. I had never made an homemade apple pie and not only that this pie was huge, monstrous and I forgot to bake the stupid thing.  So  over the years we have laughed so hard bout the first time I made homemade apple pie and she said she was the Guinea pig. After Anna loving baked that pie Annette said it was the best pie she ever ate. Annette you are loved and so dearly missed!! 

Annette was such a great friend and kind person. I am so blessed to have had her as a great friend of mine. She will be missed dearly. 

Annette you are and will always be the love of my life. I was very blessed to call you mine I miss you so very much.I love you with all my heart and soul rest in peace sweetheart.

Candace, Cameron, Cierra, Linda & Anthony, I'm so sorry for your loss! Annette was always the sweetest, kindest person I've had had the pleasure of knowing. She was special to me because of her Love, Friendship & Caring nature. She & I shared many laughs & tears along this journey we call life. She been there as my right arm when I needed. She did it unselfishly! I will miss her greatly!  Rest In Peace Sweet Friend I Shall Miss You! 

I recall a time when Annette, my daughter, Gloria Starr & I we're headed  towards Swannoa Castle, at night. For some reason my daughter & Annette got out of the small ford ranger. I don't recall why but I looked down to find my flashlight. When I looked back at them Annette was saying something. I thought I then realized I was applying the brakes.... no not at all.  I was on the darn clutch. And every time I applied the brake (clutch) I would drift backwards. I  realized what I'd done & immediately stopped. I got out of the pickup.  Annette came over to me grabbed me & gave me a Big Hug. She kept saying, all I could think of was how I was going to tell Neil you'd gone off the side of the mountain. She was panicked & relieved all at the same time. Wow, what a night that was! I have always said she was an Earth Angel!

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her daughters, Candace Shiflett, Cierra Nelson, Cameron Nelson; step-daughters, Brianna Thomas, Heaven Thomas, Morgan Layne; brother, Anthony Nelson; sisters, Amy Lovejoy, Angela Meredith; 5 grandchildren, Josephine Harvey, Jessica Harvey, Johnannah Harvey, Emerson Layne and Coltlee Layne.


Annette also leaves behind her fiancé, Chad Thomas, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
