Audrey H. Chandler

She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Dennis Hackett Sr., mother, Frances (Mawyer) Hackett; stepdaughter, Paula Jean Chandler; and brother-in-law, Horace Lee Proffitt.

Survivors include her husband, Paul Edward Chandler of 44 years; stepson, Richard (Ricky) Lee Chandler; stepdaughter, Melissa Dawn Thacker (Troy); sisters, Thelma Jane (Hackett) Proffitt, Nancy Lou Hackett, Rhonda Dee (Hackett) Moyer (Mac), and brother Raymond Dennis Hackett, Jr.; sister-in-law, Wanda A. Harris (Steve); and step-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews.

Audrey work for Comdial Corporation for 25 years. She currently was working and loved her security job at UVA Jag School for almost 21 years. She also loved rescuing cats that her and Paul took care of together.

The family would like to thank Martha Jefferson Hospital’s doctors and nurses on the Neurology floor for their wonderful care of Audrey, especially Dr. Slotje.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday March 21, 2022 at Augusta Memorial Park, 1775 Goose Creek Road, Waynesboro with Pastor Bill Cole officiating. All who plan to attend are asked to meet directly at the cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to an SPCA of your choice.
