Born May 7, 1941 in Afton, Virginia, he was the son of the late Benjamin D. and Helen (Kenney) Showers.
He was honorably discharged from the United States Army, was of the Presbyterian faith and retired from the former Stanley Furniture in Waynesboro.
Survivors include his loving wife, Mae Frances (Winegard) Showers.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 22, 2026 at Augusta Memorial Park with Pastor Billy Coffey officiating. Military honors will be provided.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
