Born on September 26, 1931 in Brighton, England to the late Doretha and William Walters.
Beryl had two siblings, Jean and Don, who were divided during World War 2. Beryl went off to live on her own in Mytholmroyd, Yorkshire, at the age of 8, with the Barker family during this time. She later met Walter “Wally Hanna, who she married at St. Andrew’s Church Portslade on August 2, 1952. She often spoke of how they met at the dance hall and that they courted for four years before marrying. They had three sons: Keith, Stephen, and Robert Hanna. In her early working years, Beryl worked as a machinist making women’s clothing. Beryl assisted her husband in his business, Hanna and Hanna Inc, restoring antiques and making furniture.
Beryl enjoyed traveling and lived in multiple locations in Florida, New Hampshire, and Virginia. Beryl and Wally had an RV that they took on their adventures. She loved cruises, casinos, and spoke often about her life in England.
