In our younger years Bernell and I were best friends. One Sunday afternoon we decided to “play” refugees so we began by building a little fire.  Suddenly her dad came running out of the house telling us to stop the fire then he reminded us that we had built our fire under his elevated propane tank!  We always had fun together.

Bernell was a beautiful person and I loved spending time with on Friday’s at lunch and when we took the train ride (picture above) from Staunton to Ivy in Sept 2022.  I have wonderful thoughts of great memories.

I truly send my most sincere condolences! I met this sweet, kind and soft-spoken, woman with a beautiful voice, in the Waynesboro Choral Society many years ago.  I always saw a bright smile on her face as she delivered a positive and kind words when talking.
We both had cats named "Bud" and one with her namesake, "Bernelle".  She'd always asked about them and we both had laughter when telling our stories.  
May God's arms of love and His peace, wrap around all of you during this time and the days ahead!

This is one of the many sweet memories we have with Bernell living in our neighborhood. We had many fun outings as the Red Hat Ladies that Bernell had put together. Fun Times! We will miss you down here on earth, but we know you are shining bright in Heaven. Lesley

John and Family, I am so sorry for your loss.  Bernell was a very special lady to me and we shared lots of great memories.  My heart aches for you.  She was such a great friend and teaching partner.  Bernell could brighten anyone's day with her smile and kind words.  She will be truly missed.
