Beverly Johnson

Beverly Coffey Johnson, 78, of Waynesboro passed away on Monday, September 3, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family. Born July 11, 1940 in New Hope, she was the daughter of the late Franklin McKinley and Cuba Crutchfield Coffey. On December 9, 1972 she married Glenn J. Johnson. The two shared a blessed union of 45 years together. Bev’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was so tenderly called “Babe”, “Mom”, “Granny”, “Bev” and “Uncle Bev” by those who knew and loved her. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Tatum and Harold Coffey; and sisters, Jane and Natalie Coffey, Lois Sanders and Merle Blackburn. In addition to her husband, survivors include her children, Rick Williams and wife, Diane of Stuarts Draft, Scott Williams and wife, Judy of Mechanicsville, Kirk Johnson and fiancé, Desiree Audia of Lyndhurst and Jill Davis of Waynesboro; grandchildren, Rod Ferrier, Megan Miller, Zachary Williams, Mollie Griffin, Josie Nissley, Olivia Heale, Chase Williams, Makenzi Williams, Brooke Johnson, Brandon Johnson, McKinley Davis and Miley Davis; great-grandchildren, Cierra Ferrier, Cheyenne Ferrier, Ian Ferrier, Dylan Ferrier, Kylee Miller, Ashlynn Miller, Nicole Miller, Beckah Miller, Abigail Williams, Reagan Williams, Zane Williams, Jacob Nissley, Micah Nissley, Eli Nissley, Jesse Nissley, Shiloh Nissley, Annie-Chase Heale, Emme-Kate Heale, Jolie Heale, Oliver Heale and Hadlie Rhea Heale; brother-in-law, Grover Johnson and his friend, Margaret Davis of Waynesboro; sister-in-law, Wanda Sweet of Waynesboro; as well as several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 7, 2018 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main St., Waynesboro. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at the funeral home with Pastor Rader M. Ogden officiating. Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Corey Abshire, Christopher Demastas, Quinny Dofflemyer, Dustin Griffin, Rod Ferrier, Ryan Heale, Brandon Johnson, Vernon Miller, Michael Plecker, Chase Williams and Zachary Williams.
