

Born July 30, 1932 in Crimora, he was a son of the late Orin Diehl and May Elizabeth (Spitzer) Cupp.
Billy was a member of Laurel Hill Baptist Church, Verona. Prior to retirement, he was employed with the former American Safety Razor where he worked as a machinist for over 35 years. Billy was a U.S. Air Force veteran having served his country honorably and rising to the rank of Private. He was a lifetime member of the National Republican Committee, the National Rifle Association, Staunton Augusta Remote Control Model Plane Club, and Woodmen of the World. As a part of the RC Model Plane Club, he greatly enjoyed teaching children how to fly model planes. Billy loved spending time with his family, reading, and building model planes.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ernestine (Brooks) Cupp; and two brothers, Robert Cupp and Rodney Cupp.
He is survived by a number of nieces, nephew, great-nieces, and great nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 17, 2022 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main St., Waynesboro.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 18, 2022 at Mountain View Cemetery, Crimora with Pastor Bill Davis officiating. All who plan to attend are asked to meet directly at the cemetery.
