Charles F. Barker

Charles was born in Avon, Virginia to Virginia (Fitzgerald) Barker and Cecil M. Barker on April 25th, 1928. Charles served for two years in the United States Navy, then worked for DuPont in Waynesboro and Camden, South Carolina for 38 years as a maintenance supervisor. He also managed RAM Works for 19 years. In his spare time, Charles loved to fish and hunt, as well as spending quality time with his family. He also enjoyed camping at Myrtle Beach when the family lived in South Carolina.

In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 74 years, Mary Elizabeth Barker; a son, Michael Barker; and a brother, Russell Barker.

Charles is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Hathcock of Waynesboro; grandson, Justin Townsend; brother, Robert Barker and wife Charlsie; and his special niece Lisa League.

A graveside funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, February 18th at 11:00 AM at Augusta Memorial Park with Pastor Billy Coffey officiating.
