

He was born March 25, 1932 in Raphine, (Pkin) Va. to the late Dabney C. and Blanner (Hite) Ramsey.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Wilford, Douglas; sisters, Mary Snead, Gladys, Louise and Katherine Ramsey, JoAnn Spitler and his son-in-law, Charlie Wade.
Survivors include his wife, Martha (Bridge) Ramsey, with whom they would have celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary on July 13th, 2026.
He graduated from Spotswood High School in 1949 and served four years in the United States Air Force. He retired from General Electric/Genicom after 33 years of service ending his career there in relay sales.
Charles pastored at numerous churches throughout the years including Stuarts Draft Mennonite, Rankin United Methodist Church, and Mt. Vernon Church of the Brethren.
Before his health began to decline, he enjoyed farming for many years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Doug (Jale), Mark (Tammi), Tony (Anne) Ramsey and a daughter, Cindy Wade.
He found great pleasure in his grandchildren, Aaron (Veronica) Kelly, Cole (Taylor) Ramsey, Kate Ramsey, Justin (Lexi) Ramsey, Jordan Ramsey, Steven Ramsey, Ryan Ramsey, Nathan Ramsey; great grandchildren Tristan and Addie Kelly, Harrison, Penelope and Tobias Duff and Charlie Ramsey.
He also leaves a sister-in-law, Naomi Brooks Mattox, as well as numerous nieces and nephews whom he held dear to his heart.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 25, 2026 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, June 26, 2026 at Stuarts Draft Christian Fellowship Church with David Kanagy and Pastor Bruce Swartz officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Aaron Kelly, Cole Ramsey, Justin Ramsey, Steven Ramsey, Ryan Ramsey and Nathan Ramsey.
Honorary pallbearers will be his granddaughters, Kate Ramsey, Jordan Ramsey, Taylor Ramsey, Lexi Ramsey, Veronica Kelly and his great grandchildren.
