Charlie Edward Dabney

He was born April 2, 1954 the son of the late Louis S. and Nancy M. Dabney.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce E. Dabney, and also by his beloved dog, Dabney.

Survivors include a brother, Layton Dabney of California, two sisters; Shirley Dabney and Charlotte Dabney of Troy, a son, Matt Dabney of Williamsburg, a step-daughter, Tiffany Margerum of Palmyra, one niece, Teresa Dabney of Richmond and five grandchildren.

He also leaves close buddies; David, Calvin and Clifford, and a special friend, Stella Gibson.

Eddie loved life, enjoyed having his family and friends around him, dancing and having a good time, and was always the life of the party.

He had a good heart, loved helping people and never met a stranger.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on August 1, 2015 at Beaver Dam Baptist Church in Troy, VA with the Rev. Greg Wissinger officiating.

A private burial will follow at a later date.

The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to your favorite charity.
