Clarence Calvin Coeyman

Born May 11, 1930 in Fishersville, he was a son of the late Thomas and Billie Coeyman.

Clarence never met a stranger and was always ready with a helping hand. He loved the Lord, his family, and most of all, the love of his life, his wife, Libby. His faith was an important part of who he was, and he cherished his home church, West Waynesboro Church of Christ, where he faithfully served as both an elder and a deacon.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen “Libby” Elizabeth Coeyman; four sons, Clarence, Jr., Tom, Paul and Gene; daughter, Nancy Sanchez; brothers, Charles and Robert; step-daughter, Bettie Cox; grandson, Curtis Coeyman; step-grandchildren, Melissa Shiflett and Ronald Cox.

Left to cherish his memory is his son, Dale Coeyman and wife, Cherrie, of Gaston, SC; step-sons, John Campbell and wife, Nancy, of Springhill, FL and Steve Campbell and wife, Tamara, of Fishersville; special friend and caregiver, Kim Allen; daughters-in-law, Gladis Coeyman and Gail Coeyman; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and 22 step-grandchildren. He also leaves a number of adopted grandchildren and a host of friends.

A funeral service will be held at11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 28, 2026 at West Waynesboro Church of Christ with Herb Zabel and Johnny Campbell officiating.

Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park, Waynesboro at a later date.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Active pallbearers will be Jason Sterling, Greg Yoho, Tim Simpson, Dick Moyer, Gene Kline, Ron Johnson, Paul Gochenour, and Tony Kincaid.

Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Davidson, Lewis Gurkin, Roger Slack and Lyle Fitzgerald.
