

Clarence was born August 26, 1927 in Greenfield, Virginia a son of the late Thomas Fulton and Lena Gertrude Henderson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Corrine (Campbell) Henderson, whom he married in Lexington, Virginia on August of 1948.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Danny Ray Henderson; three sisters, Mary Gertrude Hite, Ollie Gladys Critzer, and Thelma Jane Fox; brother, Homer Lewis Henderson.
Clarence retired from DuPont, was a veteran of the United States Navy, a charter member of SherLynd Baptist Church, serving as a Trustee, Deacon, and was a long time adult Sunday School teacher.
He was also a member of the Gideon’s and loved to play music. Over the years, he played in several groups, including a group known as the Henderson Family Gospel.
He is survived by his children, Doris Marie Campbell of Lyndhurst, Clarence Everett Henderson, Jr. of Lyndhurst, Debbie Sue Benson of Stuarts Draft, Cathy Lynn Hall of Arizona, Judy Faye Knous of Staunton, and Morris Fulton Henderson of Lyndhurst; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He also leaves his brothers and sisters; James Fulton Henderson of Afton, Charles Preston Henderson of Stuarts Draft, Lillie May Keefer of Waynesboro, Wilson Lee Henderson of Fishersville, Mary Estelle Thompson of Waynesboro, Doris Ann Burch of Florida and Alice Marie Gough of Crozet.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 27, 2015 at SherLynd Baptist Church, 20 Winterview Lane, Lyndhurst, Virginia with Pastor Allen George officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery will military rites by American Legion Post 340.
Active pallbearers will be Brian Bergey, Marc Crawford, Tim Marcum, Corey Smallwood, Kay Vance, James Wright, Cody Ridenhour and T. J. Kidd.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ed Fitzgerald, Gary Gregory, Jim Gunn, Lyle Hunter and Harold Orman.
A dinner and time of celebration of Clarence’s life will follow the internment at SherLynd Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday, June 26, 2015 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
