Constance Sue Purcell

Constance was born in Des Moines, Iowa, on May 3rd, 1945 to Ada and Marshall McCray. After leaving school early to work on the family farm, Constance started a family of her own. She ran a childcare business out of her home for nearly 50 years in Augusta County. In her spare time, Constance enjoyed puzzle books, reading (especially her crime dramas), playing with her dogs and spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Constance was preceded in death by her brother, Donnie McCray; and her sister, Joyce Foley.

Constance is survived by her sons, Byron Terrell (Sonya) of Waynesboro, and Jason Maxey (Tammy) of Waynesboro; her grandchildren, Jordan Terrell, Noah Terrell, Jonah Terrell, Chad Brooks, Triston Brooks, and Scottie Fisher. In addition, she is survived by her great grandchildren, Callie, Teagan, Jordy, Kash, Jonah, Ryder, Liam, Adalynn, Peyton, Ellie Mae, Jiraiya, and two more on the way; as well as nephews, Kevin Lotts, Boyd Reid, numerous extended nieces and nephews; special lifelong friend, Joyce Fisher; and her beloved canine sidekicks, Chase and Jake.

Per Constance’s wishes, there will be no public services.
