She was born in Bath County, VA, on July 17, 1919, daughter of the late Hector Davis and Margaret Davidson Edmond.
She was a member of Stuarts Draft Baptist Church and the Ladies Auxiliary V.F.W. Post 9339 in Stuarts Draft.
She worked for 9 years at BARC Electric Corporation in Millboro, VA, 3 years as a commercial teacher at Millboro High School, and 17 years as a secretary for the U.S. Forest Service in Harrisonburg, VA.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband in 1998, Edward VanFossen.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, September 2, 2011, at Windy Grove Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Bath County, with the Rev. Dr. William Kopp officiating.
