Crawford Alexander Brooks

Crawford Alexander Brooks, 75, of 267 Little Sorrell Drive, passed away Sunday, March 30, 2014 at his residence.

He was born February 7, 1939 a son of Crawford Russell and Elizabeth Carroll Brooks.

In addition to his mother of Stuarts Draft, survivors include his wife, Eleanor Brooks of twenty-six years, a son, Crawford Dean Brooks (Nikki) of Greenville, daughters; Betty Colvin (Bob) of Crimora, Kathy Wright (Robert) of Waynesboro, Penny Brooks ( and her companion Rob) of Grottoes, Tammy Stogdale (Jerry) of Lyndhurst, two brothers

Charles Brooks (Wanda) of Waynesboro, Donnie Brooks (Eva) of Waynesboro, two sisters, Jean Johnson of Ruckersville, Barbara Baber of Stuarts Draft, two step-sons; Richard Richman (Melissa) of Woodstock, Gary Richman (Lisa) of Woodstock, a step-daughter, Tammy Poston of Strasburg, nineteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

He also leaves a number of nieces, nephews and his K-9 companion, “Puddles”.

A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, April 3, 2014 at Waynesboro Free Methodist Church by his grandson, Ethan Colvin. Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers will be his grandsons attending the service.

Honorary pallbearers will be his granddaughters.

The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 PM Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 West Main Street Waynesboro, VA.
