Obituary of Daniel Arthur Huber
Daniel Arthur Huber, 95, of Harrisonburg passed away Sunday, April 13, 2014 at Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community. Born September 3, 1918 in Riley, Canada, he was the son of the late Joseph E. and Emma L. (Burkholder) Huber. Daniel served with the Civilian Public Service during WWII. Following the war, he traveled to Europe and volunteered in helping teach communities how to use farm equipment. He worked as a self-employed building contractor having owned and operated Huber Homes. Daniel was a member of the Full Gospel Businessmen’s Fellowship International. A faithful member of Springdale Mennonite Church, he will be remembered for his artistic woodwork seen inside the church. In recent years, he had attended Gospel Hill Mennonite, Harrisonburg. He enjoyed woodworking, the mountains, camping and traveling. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Welby Mae (Harner) Huber; as well as six siblings. Survivors include his wife, Ella (Coffman) Huber of Harrisonburg; children, Randal Lee Huber and wife, Sharon of Connecticut, Kathryn Sue Huber of Harrisonburg and Larry Duane Huber and wife, Carol of Raphine; grandchildren, Martin, Abigail, Joseph, Rita and Dallas Huber; step-grandchildren, Mark, Becky, Keith and Sarah McCourt; eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, April 18, 2014 at Springdale Mennonite Church with Pastor Kevin T. Goertzen leading. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Joseph Huber, Dallas Huber, Lester Huber, Jeff Hosey, Harry Brunk, Jr. and Arden Harner. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W.
