

Daniel “Danny” Grant Whorton, 58, of Waynesboro, Virginia passed away unexpectedly Sunday evening, October 9, 2011.
He was born February 10, 1953 in Moundsville, West Virginia, the youngest son of the late Eugene and Ruth Grant Whorton.
He was a graduate of John Marshall High School, Glendale, West Virginia.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Louise Whorton, a brother, Samuel Leo Whorton, and a step-son, Craig, all of Moundsville, West Virginia.
Survivors include his wife Sally, two daughters, Ashley and Katie, step-daughter, Lisa, three granddaughters, Mercadies Whorton, Izabella Brooks, Lexus Brooks, all of Moundsville, West Virginia, a sister, Joan Marie Hinerman and her husband William O., their sons William A. and Bradley G. of Waynesboro, three brothers, Eugene Wilford Whorton, Jr. and his wife Shirley, their daughter Brenda of Cameron, West Virginia, Robert Dean Whorton and his wife Della of Cameron, West Virginia, and his son, Brian, Jerry Scott Whorton and his wife Cindy, their daughters Jennifer and Mindy of Moundsville, West Virginia.
He also leaves a number of great nieces and nephews.
Danny was employed by Ply Gem (Alcoa) of Stuarts Draft, Virginia where he was well liked and will be greatly missed.
He had also worked at Simon Pearce Glass, Mt. Lake Park, Maryland and for a number of years at Fostoria Glass Company in Moundsville, West Virginia until its closing.
Danny was a skilled and experienced craftsman and had exhibited his work at craft shows.
A memorial service will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, November 19, 2011 at the Church of Christ, 227 Bookerdale Road, Waynesboro, Virginia with Minister David Ladd officiating.
The family will receive friends following the memorial service.
