

Born March 11, 1957 in Loudoun County, Virginia to Ruth Santmyer Garrison and Waverly Jackson Garrison.
During his early years growing up in Lovettsville and Round Hill, Virginia, he was given the nickname Porky. He graduated from Loudoun Valley High School in 1976. Darrell was of the Baptist Faith.
In 1979, Darrell answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Army. During his service he earned several medals, ribbons and expert badges and was honorably discharged as a sergeant in 1986.
Between 1986 and 2002, Darrell lived in Tennessee and Virginia, working numerous jobs. He worked for the Town of Purcellville, VA from 2002 until 2013. He moved to Tennessee in 2013 but returned to his loved ones in Virginia on December 6, 2025.
Darrell was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gary Garrison.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa Griffith Garrison whom he married June 27, 2026; brother, Keith Garrison (Vicki); sisters, Cheryl Anderson, Joi Cooper and Amy Sawyer (Scott); son-in-law, Andrew Pope; step-granddaughters, Willow, Serenity, and Aurora Pope.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at the Round Hill Baptist Church, 7 West Loudoun Street, Round Hill, Virginia with Dr. Chip Corbin officiating.
A private service will be held in Arlington National Cemetery with full Military Honors.
