Dee Ray Wheeler

He was born in Mt. Solon on March 14, 1944, a son of the late Orville T. and Evelyn (Michael) Wheeler.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded by a brother, Garry Wheeler.

Survivors include his wife, Carol (Grove) Wheeler; daughter, Tiffany Wheeler; son, Alan Wheeler (Eldry); daughter, Amy Mays; son, Dean Hostetter (Christy); daughter, Angi Pardee (Bryan); brother, Carroll Wheeler; grandchildren, Jack Marshall, Kaitlynn Garasimowicz (Andrew), Jordan Pardee (Maddie), Jaime Dunham (Taylor), Raegan Berry, Jake Gilmer, Madison Wheeler (fiancé Gant Patteson), Elisa Hostetter; great grandchildren, Peyton Marshall, Aubree Garasimowicz, Ivey Garasimowicz and Myles Dunham.

Dee retired after 42 years of service as a foreman in the carpentry department from Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation Center. He was a member of Springdale Mennonite Church. He served his country in the United States Navy on the USS Little Rock. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and was an avid fan of the Washington Redskins. Most of all, he loved his grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 18, 2026, at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W Main St, Waynesboro, Virginia
