

Doris Dean (Desper) Madison, 70, of Waynesboro passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Montebello on May 21, 1945, a daughter of the late Clinton and Mary Desper.
Doris was employed by Paul’s Restaurant, where she become close friends with Anna and Paul Boukarakis . She later retired from Shoney’s Inn after 15 years of service. Doris enjoyed spending time with family and friends, going to yard sales, and playing outdoors with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she preceded in death by her beloved son, Ronnie Madison and her sister, Stella.
Survivors include her loving husband of 53 years, Tommy Madison; two sons, Tommy Madison Jr., and wife, Teresa and Jimmy Madison and wife, Sonya all of Waynesboro; a brother, Dennis Desper; a granddaughter, Jenny Madison; two grandsons, Cody and Levi Madison; a great grandson, Zayden; several step grandchildren; a step great grandchild; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Doris also leaves behind; two god grandsons, Lance and Landon Howdyshell; two special friends and caregivers, Brenda Martin and Larue Moomaw and her three fur babies, Peaches, Nicky and Missy.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes with Pastor David Chappell officiating. Burial to follow at Augusta Memorial Park.
Active Pallbearers will be Jimmy Madison, Levi Madison, Lance Howdyshell, Boots Howdyshell, David White, Charles “Pete” Richardson, and Ralph Martin.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Landon and Kim Howdyshell, Melissa and C.J. Neese, Melissa Coffey, Danielle Lauff, Jennifer Marshall, and extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, March 21, 2016 at the funeral home.
