Edward Schenck Erb

Mr. Erb was born on October 22, 1926 in Pottstown, PA and was a son of the late Harold and Eva (Schenck) Erb. Once a high-flying aviation cadet, Ed served in the Air Force and believed in the freedom of America. For many years, Ed owned Eastern Trucking in West Virginia and then moved to Waynesboro to own and operate Erb’s Transportation in Crozet. He was also a past member of the Waynesboro Lions Club and Waynesboro Country Club

On July 19, 1959 he married the former Garnett Bailey who survives.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Erb is survived by a son, Bill Crute and wife Donna of Woodstock; grandsons, Matthew and Andrew of Northern Virginia; a sister, Joan Fineg and husband Jerry of Austin, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday June 24, 2012 at 2 PM at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes with Rev. Dave Cunningham officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah, 64 Sports Medicine Drive, Fishersville, VA 22939
